Istanbul United
A documentary about three of the most loyal and at the same time violent football fan groups in the world and their involvement in the protests in Turkey. The fans of the football clubs Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas are commonly known for the riots during matches and their extreme rivalry. That’s why what Istanbul United documents is all the more astonishing: in the context of the protest movements in Gezi Park, these ultra-fans join forces to help the demonstrators with their knowledge of barricades and tear gas and fight side by side against the police officers.
